Gianpiero Lambiase will stay with Red Bull Racing and Max Verstappen in 2026. Despite interest from other teams and mounting speculation about his future, the race engineer will be remaining with the team. On Tuesday afternoon,
De Telegraaf reported that Lambiase would remain with
Red Bull Racing where he has a contract that runs until the end of 2026. Inquiries by
GPblog confirm that Lambiase has indeed decided to stay with Red Bull Racing.
In recent months, there has been significant interest in Lambiase. Several teams, including
Williams,
McLaren, and Aston Martin, were all seen as potential new employers.

The Silverstone-based outfit reported to be offering him a much more senior role at the team as it rebuilds under the eye of former Red Bull designer Adrian newey. However, Lambiase, who serves as race engineer for Verstappen and doubles as Head of Racing, is now set to stay.
Lambiase emotional after 2025 Abu Dhabi race
It is worth recalling that Lambiase was visibly emotional after Verstappen narrowly missed out on a fifth consecutive Drivers’ Championship at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
The race engineer appeared deeply affected as the Dutchman lost the title to Lando Norris by just two points, and he was seen struggling to compose himself in the immediate aftermath.
However,
GPblog reported that Lambiase’s emotional reaction was not linked to speculation surrounding a potential departure from Red Bull. Instead, it
stemmed from the intense and demanding nature of the 2025 season, which proved particularly challenging on a personal level and resulted in him missing two races during the campaign.
