Nowadays in Formula 1 there is more and more talk about a possible salary cap for the drivers. Earlier on Friday Max Verstappen already said that he is against it and more and more drivers are siding with the Dutchman.
Almost every driver is asked about the salary cap for drivers during the press conference in Azerbaijan. Almost every driver seems to agree with Verstappen, who reacted fiercely and said that drivers risk their lives when they get into a Formula 1 car. In addition, there are other reasons that drivers do not like a salary cap.

Drivers agree with Verstappen

Alfa Romeo driver Valtteri Bottas is quoted by Motorsport-Total.com and says that apart from the track they also have to work harder and harder. Thus, more and more is done for the fans. According to the Finn, it is illogical that drivers' salaries have to go down, while Formula 1 as a whole is aiming upwards.
Pierre Gasly and Carlos Sainz agree with Bottas. Sainz adds that he could understand a salary cap if Formula 1 were in crisis. Instead, F1 is actually doing well, so Sainz says it would be an illogical move now. Mick Schumacher adds that F1 is their life and it would be weird if they were not rewarded for it.
