McLaren have emerged as the only team to introduce aerodynamic upgrades for the Brazilian Grand Prix, bringing four updated components to Interlagos while their main rivals have opted against making changes to their cars.
According to the FIA's official car presentation document, the Woking-based outfit have introduced a completely redesigned front wing, a new rear wing assembly, an updated beam wing and modifications to the floor furniture.
Ferrari, Red Bull and Mercedes have not declared any new components for the São Paulo weekend. The remaining seven teams have also arrived without upgrades, leaving McLaren as the only constructor to submit changes for the event.
What has McLaren changed for the Brazilian GP?
The most significant development concerns the front wing, which features an entirely new design intended to improve airflow towards the floor and bodywork. McLaren expect the revised component to deliver better aerodynamic performance through improved flow conditioning.

At the rear of the car, the team have introduced a new rear wing assembly specifically designed for the Brazilian Grand Prix. According to the FIA document, its purpose is to increase aerodynamic load efficiently across different conditions.
The rear wing is accompanied by a redesigned beam wing, developed to improve the interaction between the two components and optimise airflow in that area of the car.
McLaren have also made a smaller modification to the floor furniture. The changes are intended to improve airflow management and, consequently, the aerodynamic performance of the floor.

While McLaren continue developing their MCL40, their closest competitors have not submitted any new aerodynamic components for the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Championship leaders Mercedes and second-placed Ferrari are both running without declared updates, as are Red Bull, who currently hold third place in the Constructors' Championship.
The same applies to Racing Bulls, Williams, Aston Martin, Haas, Alpine, Audi and Cadillac, with none of the other ten teams declaring upgrades for the weekend. McLaren's decision comes as they attempt to recover third place from Red Bull, with a 17-point gap separating the two constructors following the Mexican Grand Prix.
The new package also has implications beyond the remaining races of 2026. McLaren's chief technical officer of aerodynamics, Peter Prodromou, previously confirmed that the revised front wing concept is expected to form part of the team's initial 2027 car specification.
