Lewis Hamilton believes Ferrari can fight for the championship in 2027, revealing that he is already working closely with senior technical figures to address the weaknesses of the team's current car.
The seven-time world champion has played an active role in Ferrari's development throughout the 2026 season, repeatedly pushing for changes both on and off the track. Although the Scuderia has made significant progress in recent races, Hamilton believes further improvements are necessary to challenge Mercedes and Red Bull consistently.
Ferrari's SF-26 has demonstrated strong performance through the corners, but its power unit remains a significant limitation compared to its main rivals. Hamilton previously identified engine performance as a key priority for 2027, while also highlighting the importance of improving the car's operating window.
Speaking ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix, the Briton made clear that he intends to maintain his demanding approach as Ferrari prepares for another attempt to return to the top of Formula 1.

Hamilton vows to keep pushing Ferrari towards championship success

Hamilton acknowledged that his outspoken personality can make working within an established organisation challenging, particularly given the changes he continues to demand.
"Naturally, it's not so easy having someone like me come into a team because I'm very outspoken, and I push and push and push and push for so many changes. And I'm gonna be pushing for more. And as long as I'm here, that's how it's gonna be. I'm here to win. And to be able to win, you have to work with everyone around you.
"We're all rowing, trying to get everyone to row at the same pace and also the same strength. And you have to push, and I have to be pushed also to elevate. We all can always elevate and be better."

The Ferrari driver then expressed confidence that the Italian outfit can become a genuine championship contender next season, outlining the work already taking place behind the scenes.
"I truly believe that this team can be fighting for the championship next year. I'm in the process of working with the head of aero, the head of vehicle dynamics to make sure that we hold on to the goodness of the car we have this year, fix some of the small, subtle things that could be better. And obviously, the power unit, they're doing their thing, and I really hope that they're able to pull through."
