The Alpine F1 tests
Nyck de Vries spoke about earlier this week are taking place in Budapest and it is the chance for the Dutchman to try out his fourth F1 car of the year.
De Vries drove a practice session for Mercedes, for
Williams and for Aston Martin earlier this year. On the same weekend as his test for Aston Martin, the Dutchman also competed for
Williams during qualifying and the race to replace
Alexander Albon. Perhaps, the Dutchman may also start the race in Singapore, in case Albon is not fit enough. Today, De Vries is trying out his fourth car of the year. It is last year's Alpine. Indeed, the team is organising some test days at the
Hungaroring in Budapest.
Antonio Giovinazzi and Jack Doohan will also get the chance to test with the team during these days. It was Giovinazzi's turn yesterday, but the team has not yet announced anything about this session. The three drivers are not the most frequently mentioned names in the list of possible replacements for
Fernando Alonso. It is, however, possible that De Vries will go to the French team. For now, it seems likely Gasly will get the seat. De Vries would be in frame to join AlphaTauri.
