Damon Hill has a new victim and talks about Lewis Hamilton's retirement

Lewis Hamilton had a race weekend to forget in Hungary. On Saturday, Hamilton once again failed to reach Q3 and it didn't get much better in the race. The seven-time world champion wondered after qualifying if Ferrari needed a different driver.

Damon Hill spoke out on X: ‘’Just seen the race. Good race. The way we like it. Bit of a brave move by Oscar. Could have ended .... differently! 😳 Sad to see Sir Lewis so downhearted. It's tough to know when it's time. Another year? It gets harder. Maybe a good holiday is needed?"

Lewis Hamilton is not entirely finished with Formula 1. He told Sky Sports he still loves the sport. However, Hamilton also hinted at other issues at play. For example, he mentioned background problems which could be troublesome.

Toto Wolff also commented on the words of his former pupil. The Mercedes team boss stated that Hamilton remains the GOAT, but in lesser moments, he wears his heart on his sleeve. Frederic Vasseur also defended his driver, after a question to the team boss about whether Ferrari paid too much for Hamilton.
