Lewis Hamilton has still not signed his contract. According to Red Bull Racing advisor Helmut Marko, the world champion might take a sabbatical, or he will somehow find a deal with Mercedes.
The Formula 1 world has been waiting for the signature of Hamilton for weeks, but due to problems during the contract negotiations this takes a long time. The Brit would like a substantial salary increase. Daimler, the mother company of Mercedes, would not be willing to do this.

Hamilton has only two options

"Either Hamilton takes a sabbatical, or he somehow finds a deal with Mercedes anyway," these are the two options for Hamilton according to Marko speaking to German RTL. "There are no interesting seats available at other teams."
According to Marko, Hamilton can always deliver when needed, but at the moment he sees the situation as something positive for Red Bull. "The whole situation is obviously causing unrest at the Mercedes team. Let's hope that we at Red Bull benefit from that."
