Button gives Ricciardo advice for new team: 'Perfect scenario'

Daniel Ricciardo will be without a Formula 1 team at the end of the season. While the Australian would like to continue driving in the motorsport class, it remains to be seen if there is a team willing to take him on. Jenson Button sees a team that fits Ricciardo well, he tells Sky Sports.

The former Formula One driver is convinced that Ricciardo and Williams are a good match. He would replace Nicholas Latifi who is still waiting to see if the British team will continue with him.

"I obviously work with Williams and know what they have coming," Button stated. "It’s a really exciting prospect working with a team and developing a car around you and the way you like to drive it. I’m one of those people, like Daniel, that wants a car that suits my style. It would be the perfect scenario, I think."

Earlier this week it emerged that Ricciardo may be considering taking a gap year this season, after which he could return to Formula 1 in 2024. For now, however, his future remains uncertain.
