Martin Brundle compared Max Verstappen's approach to Michael Schumacher's amid the Dutchman's current criticism of the 2026 Formula 1 cars.
So far this year, the Dutchman has been very critical of the regulations in Formula 1. Each Grand Prix weekend, he has shared heavy verdicts on the matter, explaining that this is not racing, and by comparing wheel-to-wheel action to Mario Kart.
Results are also yet to come for Verstappen this year, who is currently in ninth place in the drivers' standings with only 12 points.
Speaking about the matter, former F1 driver and current pundit Brundle discussed how a similarly big champion, Schumacher, had a different approach.
He said on The F1 Show: "What a Schumacher would have done is close the door, thump the desk, metaphorically got hold of the right people by the throat, walked out and with a smile go 'everything is fine'.

"Then if they don’t sort it out, which we’re looking forward to for Miami, then you start going on to the media. But that’s not how he [Max] does things."

Brundle: Verstappen's F1 exit threats have become 'boring'

Brundle argues that Verstappen should make his decision, or don't speak about that possibility at all. "I think it’s getting a bit boring with what he’s saying. Either go or stop talking about it, because it is what it is," he said.

However, Brundle does not think Verstappen would choose to leave, especially if he is handed a car he can fight for the biggest prizes again.
