Aston Martin is in desperate need of an upgrade as they flounder down in eighth in the Constructors' Championship, and they might finally be in luck. The British team are yet to finish higher than sixth place in a Grand Prix this year. That result came at the opening round in Australia through Lance Stroll.
Aston Martin's CEO and Team Principal,
Andy Cowell, revealed their plan of attack in Aston Martin's
British Grand Prix preview.
Aston Martin will debut "a new floor and top bodywork"
Aston Martin are building a super team with double world champion Fernando Alonso behind the wheel. Alongside the Spaniard, they have welcomed Adrian Newey and will take on Honda power in 2026.
Despite this, the British team have endured an ardous first 11 rounds of the world championship.
Cowell is hoping the updates can improve their pace and said: "We have a new floor and top bodywork. This builds on the Imola update, but whereas Imola focused more on the shape of the top bodywork, this one focuses more on the floor with a small modification to the top bodywork, aimed at improving the quality of airflow around the rear tyres.
"This is probably it in terms of 2025 updates. We've completed our final scheduled wind tunnel run on the AMR25 – though, as I've just suggested, that could change because of the speed with which we can now organise a test. There are not, however, any more planned tests."
Aston Martin have had a slight upturn in form recently
Aston Martin are heading into the
British Grand Prix off the back of three consecutive top 10 finishes courtesy of Alonso.
He took seventh place last time out at the Red Bull Ring and returns to Silverstone which is a track where the Spaniard has won at twice in his career.
