Arrivabene takes responsability for failing Ferrari

Ferrari team principal Maurizio Arrivabene has taken responsibility for Ferrari's disappointing weekend at Singapore, as the team finished in third and fifth despite being the heavy favourites.

Especially Sebastian Vettel's tyre strategy was questioned by media worldwide, as the German bolted on ultra-softs rather than softs for and drove on them for over 40 laps.

It's been two consecutive race weekends in which Ferrari couldn't capitalize on having the faster the package, as Lewis Hamilton won both in Monza and in Singapore despite being dubbed as the heavy underdog.

The result of this is that Mercedes lead Ferrari by 37 points and Hamilton leads 40 points. Hamilton's lead on Vettel looks very unlikely to be bridged by the German, as Hamilton's famous consistency will probably mean that Vettel won't be able to gain 40 points in just six races.

Ferrari will need another Austria, when both Mercedes cars retired with technical failures, but again, Mercedes' extreme consistency will likely prevent that from happening.

Arrivabene still believes in his team, but knows that in the end, he is responsible when things go wrong at the Italian team.
