George Russell and Kimi Antonelli will wear no fewer than three different race suits over the Miami Grand Prix weekend as part of Mercedes’ collaboration with Brazilian bank NU. In a first for Mercedes, Russell and Antonelli will wear three different race suit designs over the course of the Miami Grand Prix weekend, all centred around Nu’s signature purple colours. Each suit represents a different phase of the company’s international expansion, starting on Friday with a tribute to Nu’s original São Paulo headquarters, where the brand was founded in 2013. Saturday’s design then highlights the company’s growth across Latin America through references to Mexico and Colombia, before Sunday’s suit focuses on Nu’s expansion into the United States with coordinates linked to Nu Stadium, the future home of Inter Miami CF.
Commenting on the announcement, Cristina Junqueira, Co-Founder, Chief Growth Officer and CEO of Nu’s emerging U.S. business, said: “We could not be more excited to bring this partnership to life — on and off the track.”
“What defines both Nu and Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS is a hunger to never settle, to do things differently and push what is possible. The suits, the film, House of Nu in Wynwood, it all reflects that shared DNA. And there is no better stage than Miami to bring all of it to life for fans and customers.”
Marko claims Mercedes already have their next Kimi Antonelli in-house
After a rookie
Formula 1 campaign spent largely learning the ropes, Kimi Antonelli has taken a major step forward over the opening three races of the new season, claiming back-to-back victories and becoming the youngest championship leader in Formula 1 history.
The former Red Bull motorsport advisor believes the Italian’s biggest improvement has come in terms of consistency, to the point where he now sees Antonelli as a genuine title contender already this season. At the same time, he also suggested
Mercedes could already have another future talent developing within the family itself, pointing to Toto Wolff’s son Jack and his impressive performances in karting, alongside Johan Berger, the son of former
F1 driver Gerhard Berger.
