Alonso shocks his fans in latest Aston Martin announcement video

Ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia, Aston Martin has confirmed its driver line-up for the upcoming Formula 1 season. Alonso and Lance Stroll will stay with the Silverstone-based team next year.

In a video shared by Aston Martin on social media, the Spaniard began: "F1 has been great to me. I've had an incredible career. I travelled around the world, I raced for more than 23 years, more than 400 GPs, and I achieved more than I've ever dreamed of.

However, Alonso had not finished his sentence yet. After a short pause, he added: "But not yet! I still feel fast, motivated and huge passion for Formula 1 and for the sport. So yeah, I'm so happy to keep racing in the highest category and it is my life."

On a more serious note, the Spaniard said: "I'm very happy to sign a new contract with Aston Martin Aramco. I took my time to make this decision, but racing is my life, my passion, and I know I still have the speed and determination to compete at the highest level. I'm committed for the long term with this team and to helping us succeed.

Lawrence Stroll added: "Lance and Fernando have been a crucial part of our journey and we are very pleased to confirm that they will continue with us into the next chapter for the team. Having two drivers with their level of experience, commitment and knowledge provides tremendous value to the whole organisation.
