Ferrari shares new statement amid rumours over Vasseur's future

Ferrari has reacted to the rumors regarding Formula 1 team principal Frederic Vasseur's future with the Italian outfit.
Since the Spanish Grand Prix at the Madring, GPblog has heard growing rumors in the paddock that the Frenchman could be replaced by an Italian. Following an interview with Christian Horner, in which the Briton said that working for Ferrari would be a dream job, the number of stories about Vasseur's future began to increase.
It is not the first time this has happened. In 2025, rumors also emerged about Vasseur's possible departure. Those ended after his contract extension was announced during that year's Hungarian Grand Prix weekend.
Ferrari continues to have confidence in Vasseur
The latest statement from the Ferrari headquarters reads: "In recent days, there has been increasing speculation surrounding Scuderia Ferrari and its leadership. Ferrari's position is clear and has not changed.

"Ferrari has made its choices. We had confidence in Fred Vasseur and his team, and we continue to do so. At this moment, it is essential that the team remains united and cohesive, focusing all its energy on the work ahead.
"Ferrari has always attracted extraordinary interest, and it is only natural that many professionals aspire to be part of it. It is a reflection of the strength of what Ferrari represents.
"We do not intend to fuel speculation or comment on assumptions coming from outside the company. Our focus is on the work, on improving performance, and on looking ahead. This is the Ferrari spirit: humility and complete focus on the future."
Ferrari's podium-less streak continued in Baku
Since the summer break, neither Charles Leclerc nor Lewis Hamilton has been able to step onto the podium in Formula 1. Last weekend, the Monegasque and British drivers finished fourth and sixth, respectively, at the Baku City Circuit.
