McLaren's Fernando Alonso has said that he "doesn't care too much" about the results of other teams, specifically mentioning his former team Ferrari and McLaren's former engine partner Honda and their new team Toro Rosso.
"It was a nice weekend for them," Alonso said when asked about Toro Rosso's stellar performance in Bahrain.
"To be honest, after 18 years in Formula 1, to answer after one good qualifying or one good result from any team makes no sense."
Alonso is referencing the fact that he constantly gets asked about Honda and their performances compared to McLaren's. The two-time champion continued by saying the current wave of questions about Toro Rosso and Honda reminds him of 2015 when he had just left Ferrari to go to McLaren.
"I've been answering questions about Ferrari in 2015 and 2016," he reminded the people.
"After I left them, every win or podium they got, I'd get asked by you if I regretted my decision of leaving Ferrari.
"After four years Mercedes keep winning and they have four championships and now you are not asking me about Ferrari, you've changed for Toro Rosso.
"I don't care so much about other teams, it's just funny how people get excited about the ex-teams when they are OK.
"They ask me and I don't care too much."
