Albon got "greedy", causing his big FP3 crash

Alexander Albon described himself as "greedy" and that caused a "silly" error in FP3 - where he crashed out - and therefore, didn't compete in qualifying at all.

Albon ran wide on the final corner in China and lost control of his Toro Rosso car, before slamming into the barriers. The impact with the barriers had a massive damaging affect on the left side of his STR14.

Toro Rosso were then forced to change the chassis, which ultimately kept Albon out of the whole qualifying session. The FIA have now confirmed that Albon will start Sunday's grand prix from the pitlane following the chassis alteration.

"I'm OK," Albon said to reporters. "I'm more angry and disappointed than anything else. It was a big crash and a bit of a silly one. Just got a bit too much astro turf, a bit too much throttle and just a bit greedy for FP3."

Albon believes it would be a "bad excuse" to put the incident down to a simple "rookie mistake": "It would be a bad excuse I would think. I don't think it should have happened.
