Qualifying for the Turkish Grand Prix took place in tricky conditions. One of those to fall victim to the drying track was George Russell which he believes cost him P5 on the grid for Sunday's race.

In Q2, Russell was pushing hard but he spun at the final corner. The Brit regained control of the car but lost a significant amount of lap time. Charles Leclerc also did the same thing earlier in the session but the Ferrari driver recovered with another lap.

Frustrating

The Williams driver is not satisfied with P13. "We should have made it easily with the last lap," he said as quoted by Formel1.

"This is very frustrating because the lap might have been good enough for P5. I just made "too many mistakes. I'm a little disappointed with myself," Russell added.

Next season, Russell will be racing for Mercedes as he replaces Valtteri Bottas next to Lewis Hamilton. Over recent weeks, the current Williams driver has been in strong form, scoring 16 points since the British Grand Prix. The same amount of points as Sergio Perez in the same time period.
