Domenicali delighted with Austria double-header despite Turkey cancellation

The news had been looming for a while but today it was confirmed that the Turkish Grand Prix would be cancelled following travel restrictions placed on the country by the UK government.

Instead of a race at Istanbul Park, F1 will have back to back races in Austria with the Styrian Grand Prix making its return. The French Grand Prix will move forward a week to accomodate the change, and Stefano Domenicali praised the promoter's flexibility.

“We were all looking forward to racing in Turkey but the travel restrictions in place have meant we are not able to be there in June,” said Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, in a statement.
