"If you can get a pole in that last race, that is also a great motivation for them, also for tomorrow. So I hope we can set a world record with the pit stops tomorrow. That would be great."

Despite his starting position, Verstappen is cautious in his prediction for the race. "Mercedes will of course be super fast in the race tomorrow. Just because we will be in pole position tomorrow doesn't mean we will win easily tomorrow. I'm going to give it all and then we'll see. Of course I have two Mercedes cars behind me who can both do a different strategy. And behind them is a McLaren, so I don't really have that backup.
