The Emilia Romagna, which is set to take place this weekend at Imola will not welcome any fans, Motorsport.com reports.
Despite having sold 13.000 tickets to race-fans, the Italian circuit will not be allowed to host fans next weekend. This decision was made by the Italian government in an announcement of a new set of new measures in the fight against coronavirus.
In light of a surge of cases in Italy, the government today decided that sporting events must take place without fans present, and chose not to consider this weekend’s race as an exception. The legendary circuit will not be able to welcome fans this weekend.

Imola boss disappointed

“The government has banned the presence of fans and that makes us very disappointed," Uberto Selvatico Estense explained to Motorsport.com. "We are very saddened by the inconvenience we face with this decision."
