Hamilton reacts to Hungarian GP grid penalty: 'Becoming difficult to hang on to that positivity'

The Briton narrowly missed out on pole position at the Hungaroring, finishing just 0.012 seconds behind Lando Norris. However, the Ferrari driver will not start from the front row after receiving a three-place grid penalty.

That is because, after completing his second attempt in Q3, he impeded Oscar Piastri into Turn 1. As a result, he was handed a three-place grid penalty, dropping him to fifth on the grid.

In his Instagram post, Hamilton also reacted to being penalized. He wrote: "Sometimes you just can’t catch a break. Another weekend when I’ve been feeling great throughout all the sessions, but then it just falls apart.

"The car has been feeling better and better, and we’ve been competitive all weekend. Tonight, we’ll keep working hard together to give ourselves the best possible chance tomorrow. I always enjoy this track, so keep the faith and send good vibes for the race," he concluded.

Not only Hamilton, but Kimi Antonelli was also hit with a three-place grid penalty after qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix. As a result, the Italian driver will start from seventh on the grid.

The biggest winners are Piastri and Max Verstappen, who both gained two positions and can now start from the second row of the grid on Sunday afternoon.
