'Antonelli's title charge surges as Russell's Mercedes future questioned'

His sixth win of the 2026 season, Antonelli delivered a commanding drive once again at Spa, regaining his lead from Pole Position against Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and fending off late pressure with aplomb. Meanwhile, it was another torrid afternoon for Russell, after the Briton crashed out at Les Combes on Lap 1 following contact with Lewis Hamilton.

In a sweary team radio, the Briton - now 50 points behind his teammate in the Drivers' standings after having lost P2 to Hamilton - rued a lack of straight line speed on the way down the Kemmel Straight, which saw him "swallowed up" by rivals.

Russell said: “I am out, what the f*ck happened with the SOC down the straight? I had no battery down the straight! Unacceptable. Unf**king acceptable!”

Also discussed on the latest episode, while the Belgian GP may have seen Hamilton regain P2 in the championship, it was far from a perfect weekend for the seven-time world champion. On Saturday, in FP3, the Briton gave his Ferrari engineers a lot of work to do pre-Qualifying after crashing at Turn 13. While he did eventually finish P4 on Sunday, he received a five-second penalty - and some damage - for the collision with Russell.

Speaking after the Grand Prix, Hamilton was unconvinced the penalty was warranted, instead arguing the Russell contact was nothing more than a racing incident.

Speaking to GPblog, and others, Hamilton said he would nevertheless text his former teammate to apologise for the incident, despite his misgivings over the penalty: "I think it was a racing incident, so I didn't think that it should be a penalty, but it is what it is.

Hamilton later avoided a second penalty at Spa, keeping hold of his P4, but Ferrari did receive a €30,000 fine for an unsafe release which saw a mechanic fall to the ground as he made his way out of the Scuderia's pit box. The incident in question had Hamilton fearing a repeat of a much more gruesome moment involving Kimi Raikkonen in 2018.
