Spa done, Hungaroring next: Full Hungarian GP schedule and session timings

After a difficult spell that saw him record two retirements and a third-place finish across the previous three races, Kimi Antonelli returned to winning ways in Belgium after a thrilling battle with Charles Leclerc. Ferrari, despite appearing to be at a disadvantage on paper, capitalised on the Virtual Safety Car to put the Monegasque in contention for victory until the closing laps, when the Mercedes driver powered past him, leaving Leclerc with no answer.

It was still an excellent result for both Leclerc and the Maranello outfit, which closed the gap to Mercedes in the Constructors' Championship after George Russell's costly first-lap retirement following contact with Lewis Hamilton, with stewards holding the seven-time world champion responsible.

Heading into the summer break, Antonelli leads the Drivers' Championship by 45 points over Hamilton, who reclaimed second place in the standings despite finishing off the podium. Russell sits a further five points behind, leaving him 50 adrift of his teammate, while Leclerc, despite his recent upturn in form, remains 78 points off the championship lead.

The Hungarian Grand Prix represents a crucial point in the championship, as it marks the final race before Formula 1 heads into its summer break. Teams and drivers will then switch into holiday mode until the end of August, when the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort kicks off the second half of the season.

Alongside the frontrunners, all eyes will also be on Aston Martin, with the team set to introduce what is almost a B-spec version of its car at the Hungaroring. On paper, the package is expected to deliver a significant step forward aerodynamically, ahead of the debut of the team's first in-house engine after the summer break.

As in Belgium, the Hungarian Grand Prix will follow the traditional Formula 1 weekend format. Action gets underway on Friday with Free Practice 1 at 13:30 CET (12:30 BST), followed by Free Practice 2 at 17:00 CET (16:00 BST). Saturday begins with Free Practice 3 at 12:30 CET (11:30 BST), before qualifying takes place at 16:00 CET (15:00 BST). The race is then scheduled for Sunday at 15:00 CET (14:00 BST).
