The Grand Prix of Tuscany ended quickly for Max Verstappen due to a problem with his Honda engine and then a crash after the lights went out. Frustration ran high for the Dutchman durinig the start and he can count on former F1-driver Ralf Schumacher's understanding.

Red Bull Racing wanted to take the next step this year. After several victories with the Honda engine in 2019, it was finally time to fight for the world title again in 2020. However, with three failures in the first nine races, those plans can be put on hold again and that leads to frustration at Verstappen.

Schumacher understands pain at Verstappen

After all, it is another year in which Verstappen cannot really show what he is capable of and cannot really compete for the title. ''That frustration about the onboard radio shows that the pressure is enormous at Red Bull. You can tell by looking at Helmut Marko and Max Verstappen. Expectations were very high at the beginning of the season and there was even talk about the world title. Reality is very bitter then'', says Schumacher in his column for Sky Germany.

''I understood Max's irritation very well. Again, his car didn't work as it should and the engine still isn't on the same level as Mercedes. What's more, it's breaking down as well. The chance to become the youngest world champion has already been lost and that will hurt a lot'', concludes the former F1 driver.
