Daniel Ricciardo is looking forward to the possible season opener in Austria. The Australian has been waiting for the coronavirus situation at home in Australia for the past month, but in an interview with the BBC he says he is looking forward to the moment when they will be allowed to race again. Ricciardo expects that there will be a lot of chaos on the track, when the drivers will be allowed to race again.

"It's really going to be some kind of chaos, but hopefully in a controlled way. I don't mean that accidents will happen everywhere, but the drivers have had to wait a long time, so there will be a combination of emotion, excitement and hunger for success with everyone", Ricciardo says.

We're going to see bold overtaking

The driver of Renault expects that everyone will be ready to race, when it comes to physical condition. He doesn't think there will be any drivers who have fallen behind with their condition after the long break. "Everyone will be ready and well prepared."

Because there hasn't been any real action on the track for a long time, the F1 drivers will have to get used to racing in the middle of the excitement. "You're going to have some drivers who are going to race on adrenaline and some who are going to race sensibly. So you're definitely going to see some bold overtaking, with some causing accidents. You are going to see a bit of everything, I expect," Ricciardo concludes.
