Formula 1 will celebrate its 70th anniversary in 2020 but plans to commemorate the occasion have hit a roadblock with teams thought to be opposing the planned event in London.
There were plans to host the event in London on the 16th May, the nearest weekend to the anniversary of the first race at Silverstone. Liberty Media had planned for all the drivers to attend the event which would take place just eight days before the Monaco Grand Prix.
However, RaceFans.net are reporting that the teams have shown some resistance to the plans and have voiced concerns regarding the busy schedule. The teams made their feelings felt at a Promoters’ Working Group meeting earlier this week.
London has previously held an F1 fan festival with the entire grid bar Lewis Hamilton making an appearance.
