Ducati's Francesco Bagnaia claimed a memorable sprint win at the Czech Grand Prix in Brno, holding off a solid challenge from Ai Ogura and Marc Marquez over the course of 12 laps.
Bagnaia took the holeshot and managed the race perfectly from the opening lap. Despite the best efforts of Ogura and Marquez, the two-time world champion managed to hang on and claim the top spot for the first time this year. The front three were separate by less than a second as they crossed the line, while VR46's Fabio Di Giannantonio was a relatively distant P4, three seconds behind.
Championship leader Marco Bezzecchi once again suffered a sprint crash, his fourth crash in sprint races this year. The incident has cost him another handful of points as the Italian was running in 5th place.
Jorge Martin was also off the pace after having to recover from Q1 earlier in the morning. 'The Martinator' could only managed a P5 finish in the end and will face a double long lap penalty tomorrow.

Brazilian rookie Diogo Moreira also crashed on the opening lap while running in 3rd place. Maverick Vinales crashed at the same corner soon after, while Pedro Acosta and Luca Marini also went down in separate incidents later in the race.
Britain's Cal Crutchlow was the only other crasher, going down on the final lap out of last place on the field.
