According to the Danish press, Pietro Fittipaldi will remain a reserve driver for Haas F1 through the 2020 Formula 1 season. In the last month or so, the grandson of F1 legend Emerson Fittipaldi spoke about being keen to remain in his role for a second season.

Denmark's BT newspaper has reported that the role for the Brazilian driver will remain in place for another year. This role was in doubt when rumours ignited that Robert Kubica was going to take the spare seat behind Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen. Since then, Kubica has signed for Alfa Romeo

The newspaper also suggested that the American car will be revealled on February 19 in Barcelona.

Can Haas turn it around?

Haas, a relatively new team, raised eyebrows during the 2018 season but failed to reach those levels again last season. At one point, Grosjean and Magnussen were singing-off different hym sheets as they raced with different chassis.

One of the biggest problems Guenther Steiner's team exerianced was managing the tyres. All teams voted to keep the same tyres for the 2020 season meaning they can use the data over the winter to get the best out of them. It also means the teams have less development work to do having already been overloded with a focus on the rule and regulation overhaul set to hit the sport in 2021.
