2021 will see the new set of regulations introduced and Mattia Binotto believes Ferrari need experience going into the important year. Charles Leclerc is currently under contract but Sebastian Vettel's runs out next year.
Ferrari finished second in the Constructors' Championship in 2019 but were a considerable distance down on Mercedes who claimed a sixth consecutive double. Despite finishing second, their best-placed driver was Charles Leclerc who came fourth in his first season with the Scuderia. He out-performed Sebastian Vettel who only scored one race win all season.
With 2020 the penultimate season before the regulation changes, it is an important year for Ferrari as they look to build for the future. One thing you can expect is an experienced line-up from them in 2021.
"That would be way too early for them," Binotto told Auto Motor und Sport on potential Formula 2 talent stepping up.
"2021 is an important year and for that we need two experienced drivers."

Binotto also believes Mercedes are strong favourites for the 2020 edition, adding: "The favourite is the team that won the title six times in a row and had the fastest car in Abu Dhabi."
