WMSC members met to discuss a number of agenda items for various motorsport classes, including F1. "It was noted that the FIA continues to explore technological innovations that will further improve regulatory practices in the coming years," said the FIA statement.
A key point discussed focused on the extreme weather conditions that caused several F1 drivers to become unwell during the Qatar GP. "Work remains ongoing to introduce measures to combat the extreme heat that drivers experienced in Qatar this year," the FIA added.
The first steps have been taken by making changes to the technical regulations. This allows teams to equip their cars with a cooling scoop to prevent overheating. The extensive 2024 F1 calendar was also discussed with an eye on the health and welfare of all travelling personnel.
