Lewis Hamilton claims that his team Mercedes haven't given everything yet this season and believes there is more to come.

Hamilton will be under huge pressure to achieve a good result this weekend in France.

The Mercedes driver lost his lead at the top of the World Championship to Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel last time around in Canada.

"I do not care that I'm not at the top," Hamilton claimed to Formula Passion.

"We have still not given everything and there is still a long way to go."

Hamilton may be referring to Mercedes' new engine upgrade that was originally meant to be used in Montreal, but reliability issues meant the unveiling had to be delayed.

The hope is that Mercedes will have it ready to use by this weekend's French Grand Prix.

However, there is speculation that a further delay may be announced as the engineers are still working on fixing the problems.

The Circuit Paul Ricard is returning this weekend, after an 11-year break, so many drivers are unaware of what the track may bring.

"I did not drive in the simulator, I never do that," Hamilton revealed.

"During the test day for Pirelli, I could drive here.

"It is always exciting to get a new circuit.

"I hope we will do better than we did in Canada."
