Red Bull Racing started the first free practice session of the Monaco Grand Prix on Friday afternoon. Team boss Christian Horner watched with satisfaction as Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez gave it their all and in between spoke to Sky Sports about the performance of the racing stable.

The Austrian racing team has been in good form in the last few GPs and hopes to continue this in Monaco. During the first training session, Horner saw that his two drivers were sharp and could immediately fight with Ferrari for the fastest times on the track.

"So far reasonably good," Horner let us know in the interview. "Ride is a challenge. We are hearing what's going on with others, perhaps we don't seem as badly affected. Our drivers aren't commenting too much about it at the moment."

Horner gives Ferrari a good chance in Monaco

According to Horner, his team cannot underestimate Ferrari. "I think from what we saw last weekend, if you had to bet on it Ferrari should have the edge. Temperatures are sky high again, set-up is crucial, these cars are new and so big around here, anything is possible."
