Promising Dutch talent Colin Veijer took his first Moto2 pole in a tense qualifying session at the Spanish Grand Prix in Jerez.
Veijer, who races for the Red Bull KTM Ajo team, is tipped to be in contention for a MotoGP seat in the future, and his performance in Jerez will certainly help him in that regard.
The 21-year-old has already shown promise in his career, finishing 3rd in the Moto3 standings in 2024 and securing a podium finish in Portugal during his debut Moto2 season.
He has had a mixed start to 2026, scoring good points in each of the opening two rounds, but crashing out in a multi-bike incident during the USA Grand Prix.
