Piastri is in first place in the drivers' standings with a 22-point lead over his nearest rival, Lando Norris.
There are six rounds to go, and the title battle is heating up ahead of the United States Grand Prix next time out.
This news comes after the Singapore Grand Prix, where the two
McLaren drivers made contact on Lap 1 with Piastri announcing his frustration at McLaren's failure to swap places with Lando Norris, who forced the Australian to go wide and yield position.

Lawson has endured a difficult first full season in
Formula 1 after being demoted from Red Bull after two races.
The New Zealander didn't score a point in Australia and China before returning to
Racing Bulls, as
Yuki Tsunoda replaced him.
It was a difficult time for Lawson, being unable to get out of Q1 at both events as well.
The Kiwi explained his time alongside Verstappen allowed him to learn a lot despite the results.
Lawson told Automoto.it: "I've only raced in two races as his teammate, but even just seeing him from afar tells you a lot.
"All the teams share data that others can see. Basic information, GPS. I've been comparing myself to Max for a few years now, and it's impressive to see what he does.
"He's simply very fast, very consistent, very comfortable with the car."
