Oliver Bearman was the driver who completed the highest number of overtakes during the 2025 season.
The young Haas driver, contesting his first full Formula 1 season after a handful of cameo appearances in 2024, ended the campaign with an impressive 128 overtakes — the highest tally of any driver on the grid.
He was followed by Alexander Albon, who finished ten moves behind, while Lance Stroll completed the podium of this particular ranking with 109 overtakes.
Just behind came Lewis Hamilton, Nico Hulkenberg and Esteban Ocon with 107, 106 and 105 overtakes respectively, while Carlos Sainz was the final driver to reach triple figures, rounding out the group on 100 passes.

Among the drivers with the fewest overtakes are the two McLaren drivers. With a car that spent most weekends running first or second, overtaking opportunities were naturally limited for Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, who finished the season on 64 and 56 passes respectively.
There were slightly more opportunities for Max Verstappen, who ended the year with 75 overtakes, followed by Charles Leclerc on 70 and George Russell with 66.
At the bottom of the ranking sit the two Alpine drivers, Franco Colapinto and Jack Doohan, who finished well adrift of the rest with 37 and 23 overtakes respectively. It is worth noting, however, that Doohan contested just six races over the course of the season.

Bearman addresses future at Ferrari after standout rookie season

The young British talent ended the season on an upward trajectory, scoring several points finishes — including an impressive fourth place in Mexico — and more broadly coming out of his rookie F1 campaign having shown plenty of promise, despite the occasional mistake.
With Lewis Hamilton struggling, should he deliver another season along those lines, it is clear that Bearman would be among the potential candidates to succeed the seven-time world champion.
