MotoGP is taking the last GP from Japan and opt for an exclusive season in Europe

MotoGP seems to be set to take place mainly in Europe in 2020. Where previously Australia made the decision not to organise a race in 2020, now also the Grand Prix of Japan is dropping out and so they are looking at Formula 1.

While Suzuka is open for the Japanese Grand Prix for F1 in October, the Twin Ring of Motegi announced on Monday morning that the race could not take place due to logistical reasons. The race was originally scheduled for 18 October, only one week after the planned Formula 1 Grand Prix.

So it's a strange contradiction, because where Formula 1 would still like to race outside Europe, this is not the case for MotoGP. Here the circuits in Spain seem to play a major role in the championship, where manufacturers like Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha will have to do without their home race in 2020.

It remains to be seen whether this is also a road that will take Formula 1. F1 has expressed that it also wants races outside Europe, but on Monday it is said that only part of the calendar will be presented with races in Europe. So even in F1, races outside Europe are not fixed.
