Lone wolf Bottas: "Decided it was time for something different again"

Valtteri Bottas has tried to reinvent himself every season in recent years in an attempt to beat teammate Lewis Hamilton. Often he would get off to a good start but was unable to keep his form throughout the season. This year he has a new plan of attack.

He has devoted himself completely to his mental toughness and keeping it up over the course of a whole season. This included spending a large part of the winter above the Arctic Circle. This outlook on life is reflected in his new helmet design.

"I decided it was time for something different again. This season is a new page in my career and that's why I have a new helmet. It was designed by my friend Tiffany, who has designed helmets for me before," Bottas said during the winter test.

The new helmet has Bottas' familiar blue colour and also the Finnish flag. On the back of the helmet a Siberian wolf is drawn, Bottas is a lone wolf in his own words.
