While Lewis Hamilton is competing at Spa-Francorchamps, he did some time to reflect on global conflicts in between the sessions on Saturday. The British driver also called for ceasefire in the Gaza.
Hamilton does not shy away from using his platform to share his views on many issues, inside and outside of Formula 1.
On Instagram, the British driver wrote reflecting on a post by Unicef: "We can no longer stay silent..."
"It's hard to find words to express the total devastation I feel seeing what is happening in Gaza. Children are starving while humanitarian organisations are unable to safely deliver people food, clean water, medical supplies - the most basic human needs. There is no justification for this."
"The silence and lack of action from the international community will be judged by future generations. Every day that passes without allowing aid to safely reach Palestinians, and without a ceasefire, more lives are lost. Those in power must do everything they can to end this suffering, and they must do it now."
Together with that, the seven-time world champion also shared organisations people can donate do, such as Unicef, Doctors Without Borders, Red Cross, Save the Children and Medical Aid for Palestinians.
