The day is near its end, and GPblog brings you the most relevant news of the day in its daily round-up: F1 Today.

Vasseur and Horner look to Barcelona with hope: Here's why!

As of the Spanish Grand Prix FIA technical directive TD018 will be enforced to clamp down on the flexibility of the front wings, Ferrari team boss Frederic Vasseur, and his Red Bull counterpart, Christian Horner, believe this will impact the teams' level of performance.
Although, it must be mentioned, that for Vasseur, the TD is much more critical, as he conveyed to media like GPblog after the race in Miami.
"For sure everybody will have a new front wing in Barcelona, by definition and by regulation. I think it will be perhaps a reset of the performance of everybody."

Alpine evaluates Doohan's situation: Will he be replaced ahead of Imola?

GPblog understands that Alpine is currently evaluating Jack Doohan's position. Rumours have it that the Australian from the French team has driven his last race in Formula 1 this season, but that is premature. No decision has been made about the driver's future.
One driver who could replace Jack Doohan is Franco Colapinto. The Argentinian already has some experience in Formula 1 because last season, after replacing Logan Sargeant, he drove nine races for the Williams team.
A possible replacement for Doohan would not come entirely out of the blue, as he was already under pressure before the season started. Doohan had never driven in Formula 1 before he was given a seat, while Colapinto had. It also helps that the Argentinian is popular in South America and brings a lot of sponsorship money.
