Alpine today officially confirmed the arrival of Davide Brivio. The Italian, who has had success in the past with Valentino Rossi in MotoGP and brought the world title to Suzuki in 2020 with Joan Mir for the first time in 20 years, is now a part of the team. His arrival in Formula 1 has been well received, including by Martin Brundle.
The Sky Sports analyst thinks this is not just good news for Alpine, but for Formula 1 as a whole. "As far as the future of Formula 1 is concerned, I am more confident than I was a few years ago," he said on Twitter in his reaction to the news that Brivio is coming to F1.
"Common sense has broken out, we have great young drivers and we are attracting good sponsors and key people," he said of Cyril Abiteboul's replacement.

New regulations are crucial

Although Brundle is in good spirits, he is still cautious about the new regulations that will come into force in 2022. "They have to be right the first time," said the former F1 driver.
