Apple TV made its debut as Formula 1's exclusive broadcaster in the United States. Fans on social media were, however, less than impressed.
During the United States Grand Prix last season, it was announced that Apple TV had signed a deal with Formula 1 to broadcast races in the country, taking over from ESPN.
The first race of the season took place in Melbourne, Australia, last Sunday. The feedback on social media was largely negative after Apple TV's debut weekend.
Some fans questioned Apple TV's interface and the quality of the broadcast, comparing the change to the introduction of Formula 1’s new power units, which received a similarly negative verdict from most drivers.
Moreover, others wrote that the quality of the F1 TV crew was an issue. Until last season, Sky Sports' broadcast aired on ESPN in the country.
