Williams has a special design ready for the upcoming British Grand Prix. This is what the car of Carlos Sainz and Alexander Albon will look like this weekend. James Vowles, the team principal of the Williams
F1 team said:
"We are proud to be flying the flag for the British GP this week. From our first win to our 100th, Silverstone has played host to some of Atlassian Williams F1 Team’s most iconic moments – and there is nothing on the F1 calendar quite like the atmosphere of the home crowd here. "Whether watching in the grandstands, supporting at the Fan Zone or cheering us on from home, we really feel the energy of the fans and will be carrying it with us all weekend."
Williams experienced a difficult weekend in Austria. Sainz suffered a DNF, while Albon finished 17th after both drivers were eliminated in Q1 on Saturday.
So far this season, Sainz has finished ninth three times in China, Miami and Canada. Albon scored his first point in Miami before finishing eighth at the Monaco Grand Prix. As a result, the Grove-based team currently sits eighth in the constructors’ standings with 11 points collected across the opening eight rounds of the 2026 season.
Sainz to review what's next during the summer break
Asked about his future, the Spaniard said to
GPblog, among others, during the Austrian Grand Prix:
"Seriously, I'm not because I have so much work to do here at Williams right now. Over the next few races, and the amount of simulator sessions we're doing, the amount of meetings that have been held in the last few months. "I've also told my team to leave me a bit on my own until the summer break, just to try and help Williams and improve the situation as much as possible. And then in the summer break, it will be obviously time to think about it, look at the options, and I think the team right now knows what my intentions and my priorities are, which would be to continue in this team, in this project. I believe in the long-term part of the project and the long-term vision, and right now we have, as I said, a lot of work to do."
