Lewis Hamilton has had an unhelpful distraction ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix after an alleged burglary attempt at the home of his new partner, Kim Kardashian According to TMZ, the alleged incident took place on Sunday afternoon at
Kardashian’s Hidden Hills estate in Los Angeles.
The leading celebrity outlet says police claim that a 27-year-old man forced his way into the property, which is currently undergoing renovation.
Police called to Kardashian's Los Angeles property
Neither
Hamilton nor Kardashian were present when the alleged incident took place, with TMZ claiming the individual took items from the house and loaded them into a vehicle.
Police allege he then took a car belonging to a staff member for a joyride. The vehicle was spotted by a security guard, who reported the incident to the local sheriff’s office.
The man was then taken into custody without further incident. Police say nobody was injured and no weapons were found on the suspect, who was arrested on suspicion of burglary.
TMZ add that sources claim Kardashian has been living in a rental property for the last few months.
Kardashian disputes account of alleged burglary
They also claim that she disputes parts of the police narrative and says the man didn’t gain entry to the property, which currently doesn’t contain any of her belongings.
The alleged incident occurred during an off weekend for Hamilton between
Formula 1 races.
The previous race was the Hungarian Grand Prix from July 24-26, and the next event is the Dutch Grand Prix from August 21-23.
Hamilton and Kardashian attract attention in F1 paddock
Hamilton’s reported relationship with Kardashian has attracted significant attention beyond Formula 1, with the reality star being the eighth most-followed person on Instagram.
Hamilton hasn’t had such a public relationship since his early McLaren career, when his girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger regularly accompanied him to races.
The singer became part of F1 folklore during his dramatic first title win in 2008 when she appeared to have a better understanding of what was going on than much of the
Ferrari team.
While Felipe Massa’s father and mechanics were celebrating the title in Brazil, Scherzinger was out in the pitlane, realising Hamilton had passed Timo Glock for fifth on the final lap, which secured his maiden title.
Hamilton has kept his relationships largely private since then, until the start of 2026, when he began being photographed with Kardashian.
The reality star later attended the Monaco Grand Prix to support her partner and became an F1 meme herself when she
‘stole’ Kimi Antonelli’s podium towel.
