Verstappen switches things up: champion reveals special helmet for final Dutch GP

Max Verstappen has revealed new helmet for his final Formula 1 race at Zandvoort. This time, it is not orange.
It is race week again next week. After the Formula 1 summer break, the season resumes with the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, which will also be a Sprint weekend.
After the 2026 season, Zandvoort will no longer feature on the Formula 1 calendar, meaning that, for the foreseeable future, this will be the final Dutch Grand Prix.
Four-time world champion Verstappen will also wear a special helmet for the upcoming race.
The Dutchman said in Red Bull Racing's video: "Let's do something special for the final one. Delftsblauwe, the color, it's used in pottery and also like little tiles they make.

"One of the race wins that I had, the trophy came with a little tile painted like this. It's something very like traditional, beautiful, so I was like well, I can easily make it orange all the time, let's do something special for the final one. I'm just looking forward to the whole weekend and hopefully everyone can enjoy it."
Verstappen is still searching for his first victory this year. The Dutchman finished second at the Hungaroring, but he crossed the line 15 seconds behind Lando Norris in the McLaren.
Verstappen delivers honest verdict ahead of Zandvoort’s F1 farewell
Verstappen told reporters after the Hungarian Grand Prix: "It’s my home Grand Prix, so for sure I’m going to enjoy it a lot. I hope, driving-wise. Hopefully a bit more than I did this weekend, at least. But, yeah, it’s going to be great to see the fans.

"Okay, we won’t have a Formula 1 Grand Prix there, but there are a lot of other series that still race there, and if you want to have a track day, the track is not going to disappear. So, for me, I’ll still have my fun driving around there, just not in Formula 1, but that’s okay.
"I mean, I just want to enjoy it with the fans. It’s incredibly impressive what they have done to bring it back, and I think, at the time when they hosted the first one, it was a great example for a lot of other Grands Prix as well of how to host and entertain. So, yeah, it’s a shame, but on the other hand, the track’s still there and I’m sure I will do more laps around there. So, it is what it is."
