The Red Bull Racing outfit has received a verdict from the stewards after making late changes to Max Verstappen’s car ahead of the Qatar Grand Prix. The Dutch driver, who qualified in third place for the race at the Lusail International Circuit, is making up to six changes to his engine ahead of the commencement of the Grand Prix due to reliability issues.
The changes made to Verstappen’s car include an ICE, TC, MGU-H, MGU-K, EX, and ICE oil level sensor, all previously used, along with parameter changes associated with the PU element replacements.
The four-time world champion is not the only driver making adjustments, with several others, including George Russell and both McLaren cars, also making slight changes ahead of the start of the Grand Prix.
Russell has made changes to his exhaust tailpipe bracket, while Oscar Piastri has adjusted the LHS ICE exhaust primary heatshield.
Lando Norris has also made a change to his RHS rear brake duct deflector.
Verstappen set for full Turn 1 attack
The Red Bull Racing driver stressed the need to get the overtake on the McLaren done in the early stages of the race.
The four-time world champion found himself stuck behind the McLaren of Norris for the duration of the 19 lap Sprint.
