Davide Brivio will join the Alpine Formula 1 team from next season. Cyril Abiteboul's departure had been announced earlier this month and so Brivio's arrival seemed a mere formality. Brivio brings a wealth of experience from MotoGP, where he won several world championships with Suzuki.
The Italian became team manager at Yamaha in 2001, where he then won five Drivers' Championships and the Constructors' Championship four times. In 2013 he moved to Suzuki to build up the team as team manager. Finally, last season he took both championships for the first time with Suzuki. He seems the right man to lead Alpine, although the French team have not confirmed his role and responsibilities yet.

From MotoGP to Formula 1

What is clear is that he will be under Laurent Rossi, who will be the CEO of Alpine. So, Brivio has over twenty years of experience in MotoGP and in the coming years he will have to prove whether he can transfer the achievements as team manager on two wheels to the four wheels in Formula 1.
