Penalty for Verstappen? Dutchman called to the stewards after swearing

Mohammed Ben Sulayem, the president of the FIA, said on Thursday that drivers should swear less. Without mentioning his name, Ben Sulayem was probably referring to Max Verstappen, whose swear words are often broadcast by F1. Verstappen was asked about this during the press conference in Singapore and he thought that swearing was almost impossible to prevent. He also stated that F1 could decide not to broadcast such words.

Verstappen also said at one point that his car was 'f****d' in Baku. Tom Clarkson, host of the press conference, told Verstappen off and warned him not to use such language. Verstappen later said: "It's not even that bad, right? The car was not working. The car is f’d [f****d]. And then, excuse me for the language. Like, come on. What are we? Five-year-olds, six-year-olds? Even if a five-year-old or six-year-old that is watching, they will eventually swear anyway. Even if the parents won't, or they will not allow it, when they grow up, they will walk around with their friends, and they will be swearing. This is not changing anything," he added.

The stewards are apparently not happy with this ruling and now want clarification. If Verstappen does get a penalty, it will probably be a fine.
