Carlos Sainz is set to start from the pit lane instead of the grid this Saturday.
A day earlier, Sainz was eliminated in SQ1 of Sprint Qualifying after setting the slowest time. The Williams driver's lap was also compromised by a software issue, which caused him to lose power on his final attempt.
Instead of starting from P22 on the grid, the Spaniard is now set to start from the pit lane at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. Williams decided to adjust the suspension set-up of Sainz's car.
"The change of setup is not in accordance with Article B3.5.3 of the FIA F1 Regulations. Car 55 is therefore required to start the Sprint from pit lane as per Article B3.5.3b of the FIA F1 Regulations," the stewards' verdict reads.

Verstappen set the fastest time in Sprint Qualifying to take pole position. The Red Bull Racing driver will be joined by George Russell on the front row.
Verstappen was investigated for a yellow-flag infringement after the session, but in the end, the stewards decided against penalizing the four-time world champion.
