Max Verstappen is set to start today's Sprint from pole position at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. Stay with us throughout the session as GPblog brings you the latest updates and exclusive insights straight from the paddock in Singapore.
After five Sprints have already taken place this season in China, Miami, Canada, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, the final one is set to take place at the Marina Bay Street Circuit in Singapore. Next year, the number of Sprints will increase to 10; however, the format will not return to the Southeast Asian circuit.
Verstappen set the fastest time in Sprint Qualifying to take pole position for today's Sprint. The Red Bull Racing driver will be joined by George Russell on the front row. This might be Russell's only opportunity to gain ground on Antonelli this weekend, as he is set to start Sunday's Grand Prix from the back of the grid after changing power unit components in his car.
In terms of the championship standings, Antonelli is now 84 points ahead of Russell after the Briton's DNF at the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia.

Max Verstappen reacts to claiming Sprint pole in Singapore
Verstappen is yet to win the Singapore Grand Prix. On Friday, the Red Bull driver showed that he has a good shot at ending that streak this weekend.
"It’s always close here in Singapore. And also your lap itself, you’re pushing as hard as you think is possible, close to the walls in places," the Dutchman said.
"Once we bolted on the soft tyres, it felt like the car was coming alive a little bit more, but I did not expect this. Of course, [I’m] very happy to be first. I think the last few races we have been a lot stronger, but this track still highlights a few little weaknesses in the car, but we manage to drive with them as well as possible."
