With Franco Colapinto going slowly in front of him into Spoon, the Haas F1 driver had to take avoiding action. After he went onto the grass, he lost control over his car and hit the barrier at a high speed.
Luckily, Bearman was fine, he
confirmed after the race.
"Yes, everything good first of all. I'm absolutely fine. It was a scary moment that happened out there, but everything is okay which is the main thing."It was a massive overspeed, 50 kph, which is part of these new regulations that I guess we have to get used to. But also, I felt like I wasn’t really given much space, given the huge excess speed that I was carrying."
Many drivers voiced their displeasure about why the incident happened and the current generation of Formula 1 cars, including Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz.
The Spaniard demanded quick changes as well, explaining that
such a crash in Miami or Las Vegas could have really big consequences.
